Max Gomez
About
Singer-songwriter Max Gomez grew up in Taos, New Mexico, where he fell under the influence of country blues early on. He apprenticed in the musical micro-climate of northern New Mexico, where troubadours like Michael Martin Murphey and Ray Wylie Hubbard helped foster a Western folk sound both cosmic and cowboy. His debut album Rule The World (2013, New West Records) received critical acclaim, and his EP Me and Joe (2017, Brigadoon Records) included "Make It Me," which gained over two million listeners on Spotify alone. Gomez has shared billing on hundreds of stages with Shawn Mullins, James McMurtry, Buddy Miller, Jim Lauderdale, Patty Griffin and John Hiatt, and Billboard says his "old soul" voice and lyrics call to mind Jackson Browne and John Prine. He also produces the Red River Folk Festival, held annually in late September in Red River, NM. He tours in support of his album Memory Mountain.
