La Lulu

La Lulu was born Luisa Bastidas in Cali, Colombia, with salsa running through her veins. A triple threat as vocalist, dancer and Latin Grammy award winning violinist, she moved to New York City as a young girl with her family, adapting to a new culture and language while proudly representing her beloved Colombia: "De Cali pal mundo" (From Cali to the world). She has played with bands all over the world and co-founded the Brooklyn band Strings N Skins. Her first single, "Estoy Hot," is a psychedelic cumbia; her second, "La Pipa de Mi Papi," is a psychedelic dembow. Both were produced by Lautaro "El beat del primo" Burgos, and together they are building a new sound with an Amazonian, psychotropic, South American vibe: the Lulu sound.
