Kittel & Co.
About
Kittel & Co. stands at the forefront of American acoustic music. GRAMMY-nominated composer Jeremy Kittel heads this group of musicians, each recognized as an innovator on their instrument: Jacob Warren, Josh Pinkham, Quinn Bachand and Simon Chrisman. They have graced the stage at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and their debut album Whorls (Compass Records, 2018) went top 10 on Billboard’s Classical chart and claimed the #1 spot on the Bluegrass chart. The Bluegrass Situation said Kittel & Co. “accomplished a feat of new acoustic, string band-rooted chamber music... whimsical, alluring, and magnificent,” and Earmilk called them a “stunning melting pot of classical and folk music.”

Press quotes
“(Kittel & Co.) takes the string band tradition to marvelously rarefied levels of collective virtuosity. Playing a repertoire from bluegrass to Bach to a strathspey and reel set… [they] sounded thrillingly spontaneous… Taking traditional music forward.”
“Jeremy Kittel’s beautiful sound is perfectly supported by his tight and powerful band of cutting edge string players. It’s a rare group that can go from zero to sixty in a split second while also weaving such subtle textures into his compositions. They draw you in and then blow you away.”
“A conspicuously original blend of genres… As fleet fingers fly, aromas of far-flung musical traditions appear and vanish like musical will-o’-the-wisps… virtuosic improvisation at its very highest level…”
“The music Kittel is making now has all the precision and virtuosity of the best classical players, but the wonderfully devilish, explosive drive of the best string bands.”
